Bravo To Air 'Coat Of Many Colors'
Bravo has announced it will air the 2015 NBC movie Dolly Parton's Coat Of Many Colors at 1 a.m. next Saturday, Nov. 20. There has been no announcement yet of whether NBC will air the film or its holiday sequel this Christmas season.

U.S., U.K. Chart Updates
The holidays are certainly getting nearer, as last year's A Holly Dolly Christmas has made its first re-entry this year on the top 100 album sales chart, the Nov. 13 Billboard numbers released Tuesday showed. The album lands at No. 89 overall album sales while losing three to No. 23 holiday albums. Elsewhere on the charts, Dolly and Zach Williams' "There Was Jesus" rises five to No. 20 Christian digital song sales. Overseas, Very Best Of Dolly Parton Vol. 1 falls four to No. 18 on the U.K. country compilation albums chart, it was revealed Friday, while The Complete Trio Collection Deluxe dips three to No. 12 and Emmylou Harris's Original Album Series: Volume 1 (with two Dolly covers, one track with Dolly harmony and one track with Trio harmony by Dolly and Linda Ronstadt) falls out of the top 20, down from No. 20.

Night Of 1,000 Dollys Goes Christmas
Knoxville's Club XYZ has announced a special holiday edition of its classic party "Night Of 1,000 Dollys" will take place next month. "Christmas Night Of 1000 Dollys" will deck the halls Saturday, Dec. 11 with a Dolly Tribute Christmas Show featuring The Queenz of Knoxville! All Dolly Christmas songs and new stage productions will be featured. No pre-sale tickets and no reservations will be taken.

Authorized Dance Remix Of 'Jolene' Released
RCA on Friday released a new dance version of Dolly's 1973 classic "Jolene" remixed by DJ Destructo (Gary Richards). Dolly previewed the track on social media Thursday with the comment "My little song 'Jolene' has been done so many different ways and I love them all, but I think this one is my favorite." The track was released for download to Apple Music and for streaming to Spotify and to YouTube here and in the media player below and for download from Amazon here. Destructo said in a press release posted by Broadway World here: "'Jolene' has been part of my musical DNA since day one. It is a true classic not only for country music but American music. I've always felt its lyrics and melody could be the bones to build a real dance floor banger around. Something to sing along to while getting your dance on. I'm beyond thrilled being given the opportunity to remix one of the greatest songs of all time and that Dolly loves it. She is a national treasure and to be able to have the world hear my version of it with her behind it is a blessing."


Nov. 8:
Dolly Returns To HSN To Promote Perfume


Dolly was back on HSN on Sunday for two one-hour appearances to promote a special three-piece gift set of her Scent From Above perfume consisting of a bottle of eau de parfum, a body cream, and a wearable butterfly ornament replicating the one on top of the perfume bottle. As with her appearance when the fragrance launched, she took calls from viewers. Netflix Confirms 'Grace And Frankie' Appearance For Dolly
Netflix on Friday finally announced here that Dolly would be guesting on the second portion of the final season of Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin's Grace and Frankie. The final episodes, expected to air in 2022, finished filming last week after the first few episodes of the last season premiered earlier this year. The specifics of her appearance such as number of episodes or character or plot lines have yet to be revealed.

Smoky Mountain Christmas Promotions Continue

U.K. Chart Updates
Very Best Of Dolly Parton Vol. 1 holds steady this week at No. 14 on the U.K. country compilation albums chart, it was revealed Friday, while The Complete Trio Collection Deluxe gains two to No. 9 and Emmylou Harris's Original Album Series: Volume 1 (with two Dolly covers, one track with Dolly harmony and one track with Trio harmony by Dolly and Linda Ronstadt) holds steady at No. 20.


Nov. 5:
'IWALY' 1973 Earns U.S. Platinum Status
Dolly adds another piece of metal to her career achievements this week, as the RIAA on Thursday announced the latest round of certifications include a platinum digital single award for her 1973 original recording of "I Will Always Love You." The award recognizes 1 million legal paid downloads or 150 million on-demand audio or video streams or some combination thereof (for example, a song may have sold 100,000 downloads and amassed 135 million streams to meet the requirement, or sold 900,000 downloads and just had 15 million streams). The recording had been awarded a digital gold single award in 2017 for 500,000 downloads/75 million streams. The new award was effective Oct. 29. It marks Dolly's third digital platinum single, following "When I Get Where I'm Going" in 2015 and "9 To 5" in 2017. Whitney Houston's 1992 cover of the song is certified 8 times platinum.

Dollywood Starts Christmas Fest, Sets 2023 Ride, 2022 Schedule
Dolly's Dollywood theme park had site plans approved by the city of Pigeon Forge this week for a new 2023 "family" attraction that wraps around Wildwood Grove which covers 20 acres and appears to be some kind of roller coaster. The park has yet to announce the attraction or any further details on it, but WVLT reported on the site plan approval this week here. The park also opens its final festival of the season, the Smoky Mountain Christmas, on Saturday through Jan. 2 and this week announced its schedule for the 2022 season:

  • Food and Flower Festival April 22-June 5
  • Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration June 18-Aug. 7 with the return of the nightly Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks show that premiered last year as well as the return of the Gazillion Bubbles Show for the first time since 2017  
  • Harvest Festival Sept. 23-Oct. 29 with Great Pumpkin LumiNights and new next year owl-themed displays in Craftsman's Valley 
  • Smoky Mountain Christmas Nov. 5-Jan. 1

    The park also released new season pass options with the base pass being silver, a mid-level pass now known as gold with smaller discounts than the current "gold pass", and a new diamond level pass that provides the previous "gold pass" benefits plus a few new benefits.

    Dolly, Kenny Specials Get Christmas Eve Re-Airings On CBS
    CBS has announced it will celebrate with Kenny & Dolly this holiday season, scheduling repeats of last year's A Holly Dolly Christmas special for 8 p.m. Eastern Christmas Eve and Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler narrated by Dolly and featuring their final public duet performance together at 9 p.m. Eastern.

    'Huff Post' Says Three Dolly Projects Holiday Vital Vinyl
    The Huff Post this week revealed its music critics' selections for the 25 holiday albums everyone should own on vinyl, and Dolly was the only artist on the list with two separate entries, plus she appeared on the title track to a third album on the list. 1984's Once Upon A Christmas with Kenny Rogers came in at No. 9, with last year's A Holly Dolly Christmas at No. 24. Emmylou Harris' Light Of The Stable, featuring Dolly, Linda Ronstadt, and Neil Young on the title track, was No. 20. (The only other artists to appear on more than one title were the Jackson 5 and The Temptations, each of which had their own holiday records on the list as well as a compilation of Christmas songs from Motown that also included tracks from their albums.)     New Kenny & Dolly Impersonator Movie Filming
    Actress Rose Byrne's first feature film from her production company, Dollhouse Pictures, which has been in development for years, has finally begun filming and this week released its first photos of stars Bobby Cannavale and Krew Boylan as Kenny & Dolly impersonators. The film will feature Dolly music throughout, and her manager Danny Nozell is an executive producer. Learn more from The Hollywood Reporter here.

    Reba's Revived, Remixed, Revisited, which includes her Dolly duet on "Does He Love You," is off the charts, falling off the Top Album Sales and current albums lists, down from No. 71 and No. 44, respectfully, in its second week of release, the Nov. 6 Billboard tallies released Tuesday showed. Elsewhere on the charts, Dolly and Zach Williams' "There Was Jesus" slips two to No. 25 Christian digital song sales, and A Holly Dolly Christmas loses seven to No. 20 Top Holiday Albums.

    Dolly, Reba Duet Falls Off Charts
    Dolly and Reba fell off the charts together last week after one week their collaboration of "Does He Love You" at No. 47 on the Hot Country Singles Chart and No. 13 country digital sales chart, out of the top 50 and top 25, respectively, the Oct. 30 charts released last Tuesday revealed. The triple album containing the track, Reba's Revived, Remixed, Revisited, fell out of the overall top 200 albums, down from one week at No. 91, and top 50 Country Albums chart, down from No. 12, as both combine sales and streams in their listings. On the sales-only Top Album Sales list it falls 63 places to No. 71 in its second week, tumbling 36 to No. 44 current albums. Elsewhere on the charts, Dolly and Zach Williams' "There Was Jesus" lost five to No. 23 Christian digital song sales, and A Holly Dolly Christmas gained two to No. 13 Top Holiday Albums. Overseas, Very Best Of Dolly Parton Vol. 1 dropped seven to No. 14 on the U.K. country compilation albums chart while The Complete Trio Collection Deluxe dipped two to No. 11 and Emmylou Harris's Original Album Series: Volume 1 (with two Dolly covers, one track with Dolly harmony and one track with Trio harmony by Dolly and Linda Ronstadt) inched down one to No. 20.

    Perfume Lands Gift Set
    Dolly's Scent From Above perfume and body spray became available recently in a $25 gift set at WalGreens nationwide, and last week ScentBeauty.com added the gift set to their website.

    'Holly Dolly' Deluxe Edition Released Digitally
    A deluxe digital edition of last year's A Holly Dolly Christmas was released on Friday featuring the previously-released expanded edition bonus track "I Still Believe" and 8-track/cassette bonus tracks "Wish Book" and "Three Candles." Get it here.
