Dolly Reveals Husband Was Hospitalized Last Week

Dolly's husband, Carl Dean, was in the hospital in Nashville last week, she disclosed at an event. It is not known at this time whether he is still being treated at the facility. Video surfaced over the weekend on Facebook here (and in the media player above) at an event from Wednesday night to honor producer Brian Ahern on his birthday. Taking the stage with Trio member Emmylou Harris (for whom Ahern produced 11 albums from 1975 through 2008 and to whom he was married from 1979 to 1984) to sing with her Emmy's hit "To Daddy," which Dolly wrote, she revealed to the crowd: "My husband's over at Vanderbilt tonight. He's not doing good. He's been over there a couple of days." Dolly is very private about Carl so she almost never publicly discusses his health. That was six days ago and most hospital stays for the elderly are only a few days so it would not be surprising if he has since been sent home, but I wouldn't expect her to be likely to address the matter publicly anytime soon.  She then headlined the Gift of Music benefit in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium Thursday night, performing several songs. Check out footage of her singing "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" a capella here or in the media player below.

    PaleyFest Tickets Still Available
Thanks to Greg for alerting me that plenty of tickets remain available for Dolly's next scheduled public appearance, her panel discussion at The Paley Center for Media March 14. Tickets, available at Ticketmaster, quickly sold out in the orchestra and first mezzanine sections, and all but a couple of tickets are gone in the second mezzanine. Although most presentations in the venue do not open the third mezzanine for sale, that section was opened soon after tickets first became available, and most of those seats remain available at this time. Dolly is expected to miss the opening weekend at Dollywood due to this special appearance.

    U.S., Overseas Charts
The track "Faith" by Dolly and Galantis featuring Mr. Probz, remained steady last week at No. 10 hot dance/electronic songs, the Feb. 1 Billboard charts released Tuesday showed. Across the pond, Emmylou Harris's Original Album Series: Volume 1 (with two Dolly covers, one track with Dolly harmony and one track with Trio harmony by Dolly and Ronstadt) shoots up seven to No. 7 on the British top 20 country compilation albums chart, while Linda Ronstadt's Original Album Series (featuring one Dolly cover and one track with Dolly harmony) loses five to No. 7, Essential Dolly Parton dips one to No. 14, The Complete Trio Collection Deluxe by Dolly, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt falls six to No. 14, and Harris's Original Album Series, Volume 2 (featuring one track with Dolly harmony and two tracks with Trio harmony by Dolly and Linda Ronstadt) falls back off the top 20, down from No. 17.
